New Flashcards for everyone. Make, study and review decks on any plan. Knox can write a deck for you — from a topic, or from your notes, slides and photos — for 2 credits on the free plan (up to 10 cards), or unlimited with Knox Plus (up to 15) and Mega Knox (up to 40, with difficulty and more card styles). Knox adds a picture to cards where one helps (you can turn that off), and you can import cards from a spreadsheet or another study app. Your decks save to your account, so they follow you to any device.
Improved Better flashcard pictures. Pictures now match what each card is about, with a short credit to the person who made them, and every card in a deck stays the same size — no more cards that jump when a picture loads.
New Bring your files. Upload a PDF, Word doc, PowerPoint or text file in Ask Knox and Learn, and Knox reads it with you.
Improved Better answers in Ask Knox. Math walkthroughs name the rule or formula they use (like the quadratic formula or the chain rule), show where every number comes from, and give a reason for each step. Explanations lead with the key terms you’ll be tested on, real examples and memory tricks. Essays open with a real hook, have a thesis that matches the body paragraphs, use specific evidence, and land close to the length you ask for — and big writing requests get more time to finish.
New The Slime Flame. For the first time, your streak flame can change! Join the Knox Discord and type /link to get the gooey, wobbling Slime Flame — then pick your look any time in Flame Fest. Your streak wears the flame you pick everywhere, and you can switch back to the classic flame whenever you like.
Improved Your streak, even in the small sidebar. Collapse the sidebar and your streak flame and day count still sit right above your credits.
New Rename your chats. Tap ✎ next to any chat in your history to give it a name you'll remember.
New Paste a picture. Copied a screenshot? Paste it right into the message box and Knox reads it like any homework photo.
New Learn mode got smarter 🎓 Knox now tutors every kind of question — math, science, history, reading and writing — one small step at a time. Knox shows how it’s done with a worked example, then you try yours — with tap-to-answer and typed questions, key-idea cards, graphs drawn right in the chat, and short video lessons. Each lesson has a short plan you can open to see where you are, the question you’re working on always sits in its own Your turn card, and asking for practice (like “give me 3 questions”) gets you exactly that many with a counter. Hints show up when you need them, and each topic ends with a recap card, practice questions or a flashcard deck. Long lessons keep going in the same chat. On the free plan, starting a lesson uses 1 question and the rest of the lesson is free; Knox Plus and Mega Knox are unlimited.
New A brand-new Knox Calculator 🧮 Scientific keys (trig in degrees or radians, powers, roots, logs, n!), keyboard typing, a history you can tap to reuse, and Send to Knox or Explain it when you want to know how it works. It fits your screen — no scrolling, even on phones.
New Fall mode 🍂 A cozy new look with warm colors, falling leaves and a pumpkin patch at the bottom of the screen — with a scarecrow, a wagon of pumpkins, sunflowers and a turkey that wanders by. Pick Light, Dark or Fall from the Appearance button.
Improved Dark mode keeps the night look — now without the Halloween decorations. Knox the fox is back in his everyday look.
Improved Copy, 👍 and 👎 sit right under each answer — and you can rate answers in chats you reopen from History too.
Improved History keeps up with you. A new chat shows up in your history the moment you ask, and chats glide into place instead of jumping.
Improved Knox’s own icons. Buttons, cards and menus now use Knox-style icons instead of your device’s emoji, so Knox looks the same on every phone and computer.
Improved Every section has its own color — orange for Ask Knox, purple for Learn, green for Flashcards and blue for the Calculator — in Light, Dark and Fall.
Improved Clearer waiting. If an answer takes a while, Knox says so under the thinking dots.
New Ask Knox and Learn in the Knox Discord. Use /ask for a full step-by-step answer (tap “Teach me this” to turn it into a lesson) or /learn for a lesson with tap-to-answer buttons, just like Learn on the website. Type /link to connect your account and the bot knows your plan: lessons run 20 replies on Free, 30 on Knox Plus and 50 on Mega Knox, and Mega Knox members get the Mega Knox role. Changed your mind? Disconnect any time with /unlink or from Account & Plan → Connections.

New Knox Support. Tap the orange chat button next to the message box (or Help & support in your profile) for answers about your plan, billing and refunds. Knox Support checks your account, and “Talk to a person” goes straight to the Knox team, who reply right in your Messages and by email.
Improved A fresher homepage. Your account menu on the homepage now matches the app, with your plan right under your name — the Free plan wears the gold credits coin, Knox Plus ⚡ and Mega Knox 💎 — and an Upgrade button. Your questions-left counter shows the coin too.
Improved Polished info pages. Reviews, Privacy, Terms, Refund and What’s New have the same dark footer as the homepage, and “Back to Knox” takes you back to the exact spot you left on the homepage.

Chat with Knox for free, a smoother sidebar, and the Knox Discord 🦊
New Small talk is free. Say hi, say thanks, or vent about a long day — Knox chats back like a real friend, and it doesn't use any of your questions. Homework questions still count as normal, even when you ask them casually. Works in Ask Knox, and in Learn before your lesson starts.
New Join the Knox Discord. A new card in the sidebar takes you to our Discord server — hang out with other students and become a Knox Ambassador.
New Show all chats. Tap Show all chats under your recent chats to give them the whole sidebar, with an easy-to-grab scroll bar. Tap Show less to switch back.
Improved Streaks follow your day. Your 🔥 streak now rolls over at your own midnight, so studying in the evening counts for that day. Only real questions keep it going.
Improved Learn mode teaches every step. Even quick problems like 2 × 4 start with a hint so you work it out yourself. In Ask Knox, quick math like 2x4 just gets answered.
Improved A tidier sidebar. The Discord and Chrome extension cards now take turns in one spot, giving your chats more room. When the sidebar is collapsed you can still see how many questions you have left.
Improved Calculator button matches. The calculator button in the message box now uses the same icon as the Calculator tab, and turns blue when you hover over it.
Improved Billing emails you can count on. You'll get a confirmation as soon as you cancel a trial or subscription, and billing emails now retry automatically if something goes wrong.
Improved Spooky link previews 🎃 Sharing a Knox link now shows our Halloween banner.
Fixed Recent chats no longer flash. Your chat list updates smoothly after every answer instead of blinking.
Fixed Smoother sidebar. No more flicker when your mouse rests on the edge of a card, and collapsing the sidebar no longer shows a stray orange bar or shifts your profile.
Fixed Free question count is accurate. If you're not signed in, the counter now always matches what you can actually ask.
Fixed Little things. The out-of-questions card is easy to read in dark mode, the phone header no longer shows an extra number, and Recent chats shows "Sign in to save your chat history" after you log out.

Knox suits up — smarter model, redesigned app, and Halloween mode 🎃
Improved Updated study assistance. A model update powers text and photo questions, with step-by-step explanations. Free and Knox Plus use the same model. Always check important answers.
New Halloween mode 🎃 Knox is in his bat cape for the season. The full spooky theme kicks in automatically Sep 20 – Nov 1 when you're in dark mode; light mode gets a small nudge that dark is where the party is. Add ?halloween=off to any link to opt out.
New New sidebar you can collapse. Tap the little icon in the top-right of the sidebar to shrink it down and give your chat the whole screen. Tap again to bring it back — your recent chats, quick nav, and account all snap right back into place.
New Quick nav in the sidebar. Jump between Ask Knox, a built-in Calculator, and Learn mode without opening a menu. Each mode has its own home so you can pick the right tool for what you're stuck on.
New Built-in calculator. Need to punch numbers real quick? Hit the Calculator tab in the sidebar — no leaving Knox, no switching tabs.
Improved Learn Mode sessions. Signed-in sessions include up to 20 messages within two hours: the first answer uses one credit, followed by up to 19 included follow-ups. Knox asks you to start a new session when that limit is reached.
New Get Knox in your browser. A new card in the sidebar links to the Knox Knows Chrome extension — ask Knox from any page without leaving what you're reading.
Improved Smoother page transitions. Going between /privacy, /terms, /refund, /updates, and the landing page now flashes the same little Knox loading screen the app uses, instead of a blank switch.
Improved The whole app got a design pass. Cleaner sidebar, chunkier sticker shadows on buttons and cards, richer plan colors in the account dropdown, and a warmer background gradient on the welcome screen.
Fixed No more extra line at the top of the sidebar. A stray border between the sidebar and the header is gone.
Fixed Your history list no longer wobbles as you scroll. The width of your recent chats now stays exactly the same whether you're scrolling or not.
Fixed Collapsing the sidebar is smoother. The label text and the width now animate together instead of the text cutting out mid-slide.

One credit pool, cleaner math everywhere, and a smarter Knox
Improved Updated answers. Text and photo questions use the same model for free and Knox Plus, with explanations designed to help you follow the steps. AI answers can still contain mistakes.
Improved Photos and questions now share one daily credit pool instead of separate caps. A typed question costs 1 credit, a photo costs 2 (photos take more work to read) — use your daily balance however fits your homework. Knox Plus is still unlimited for both.
New Tap your credit count to see everything. Clicking the counter in the header opens a full breakdown — how many you have, exactly how the daily bank works, and a live-ticking clock showing the time to your next refill.
New Learn mode follow-ups are free. Starting a Learn session costs 1 credit like any other question — even if it starts with a photo — but every follow-up in that same Learn conversation is free, so working through something with Knox never punishes you for asking more.
New Drag and drop a photo anywhere in the app. Drag a picture of your homework in from your desktop, Photos, or wherever — drop it anywhere on the page and Knox picks it up, no need to hunt for the upload button.
New Copy button on every answer. Every response from Knox now has a one-tap copy button, so you can grab the full answer and paste it wherever you need it — works even if you're not signed in.
Fixed Knox no longer goes blank on hard problems. A really dense question — a multi-part calculus problem, or a photo of a packed worksheet — could sometimes come back with an empty response. Knox now has a lot more room to work through problems like that, and will tell you to split it up if it's still too much.
Fixed Pasting a math problem now shows up clean. Copying a problem from Canvas, a textbook PDF, or a quiz site used to paste in as raw formatting code — it now converts automatically into normal, readable math.
Fixed No more stray formatting code in Knox's answers. On harder problems, answers could occasionally show leftover code like frac{1}{3} or boxed{...} instead of real math — that's fixed, so every answer renders as clean, normal text.
Improved Learn Mode's example prompts actually match how it teaches now. The suggestions on the Learn Mode home screen used to ask Knox to just solve the problem — they now match the guided, quiz-style approach Learn Mode is built around.
Fixed The credit timer no longer resets when you come back. Previously the countdown could look like it reset to 24 hours each time you opened Knox — the timer is now anchored server-side, so it stays accurate no matter when you check it.
New Dark mode. Tap the moon icon in the header to switch — works across the whole site and the app, remembers your choice, and light mode is still the default for everyone until you flip it.
New Signed in? You'll land straight in the app now. Coming back to knoxknowsapp.com while already logged in takes you right into Knox instead of the homepage — every other page (pricing, terms, a link someone sent you) still opens normally.
Improved A small reminder under the input box: Knox is AI and can make mistakes, so it's worth double-checking anything important — and the 👍 / 👎 under an answer is the fastest way to tell us when something's off.

Simpler pricing, a real sidebar, and cleaner answers
New One plan, not three. Knox Plus is now the only paid tier — $9.99/month or $79.99/year, with a 7-day free trial. No more picking between confusing tiers.
Improved Free gets the same AI as Knox Plus. Paying only removes the usage limit — it never unlocks a "better" version of Knox. Free is 10 questions to start, +5 each day (save up to 20), and 5 photo uploads a day; Knox Plus is unlimited.
New Calculator moved into the sidebar. It's a full page now instead of a popup — click it from anywhere in the app.
New Account & Plan, one click away. Added straight to the sidebar instead of being buried in a dropdown.
New Real conversation history. Clicking a past conversation now reopens the whole thing — every question and answer, not just the question re-typed into the box.
Fixed Code answers keep their indentation. Python, Java, and other code now render in a proper formatted block instead of losing its structure.
Improved Cleaned up the look and feel across the app and homepage — clearer pricing page, steadier layout, smoother sidebar.
